Little Townhouse on the Prairie
ABOUT US
When I decided to move to Fargo North Dakota, several friends insisted I blog about it. When I thought of the blog name, "Little Townhouse on the Prairie" I realized I had to comply.
My story is a common one. I grew up in suburbia. I went to (in the parlance of the dear departed Penthouse Forum) a large Midwestern university. I did some wild things, some stupid things, some bad things some beautiful things, some ugly things, and some fun things and I still managed to graduate. I travelled for a couple years with only the things I could carry. I saw some wild things, some stupid things, some bad things, some beautiful things, some ugly things, and some fun things. I still managed to come back.
I moved to New York, I went to law school, I worked, I got married, I moved to DC, I worked, I got divorced, I moved on. I moved to Philly, I worked and I became a mom to the best person I know. Then I stopped working, I stopped doing much of anything. My fulltime job was postpartum depression. I drifted and nearly sunk. I moved to Atlanta where my sister propped me up and helped me get back to being alive.
I was lucky enough to find my vocation. I love to help people find their best professional life. I have spent tens of thousands of hours doing what I do, and it never gets old. When I got a chance to do what I love, and to do it in service of college students -- people at that perfect moment where so much is possible -- I went. to Fargo. This is my story.
Blogger's note: The picture is of my favorite record store in college. It has nothing to do with this story, but this page is likely the only time college will be mentioned, and I really loved that store, and its my blog, so there you have it..
